    Space Applications Centre (SAC), Ahmedabad is one of the lead Centres of
    Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), Department of Space (DOS).
    SAC focuses on design of space borne instruments for terrestrial and
    planetary missions of ISRO and development and operationalisation of space
    technology for societal benefits. The applications cover communication,
    broadcasting, navigation, disaster monitoring, meteorology, oceanography,
    environment monitoring and natural resources survey. All the transponders for
    the INSAT and GSAT series of communication satellites and the optical and
    microwave sensors for IRS series of earth observation satellites are
    designed and developed by SAC. Further SAC develops ground transmit
    and receive systems and data / image processing systems. SAC has highly
    sophisticated payload design and integration laboratories and facilities for
    electronic and mechanical fabrication, environmental tests and image
    processing and analysis. Campus library of SAC is the finest in western
    region. SAC is also actively involved in imparting training to scientists and
    engineers of the Asia Pacific region through the nine months PG diploma
    programs of the UN-CSSTEAP.
    SAC has made pioneering contributions in the field of agriculture, forestry,
    coastal zone management, urban planning, snow and glacier studies,
    oceanography and atmospheric studies. SAC has developed concept and
    techniques for pre-harvest estimation of production of major crops under
    multi-agency FASAL project, forecasting of potential fishing zones using OCM
    and other satellite data, studies of Himalayan glaciers and snow cover and
    monitoring of coastal zones using optical as well as microwave remote
    sensing data. Methodology for tracking cyclones in terms of direction and
    land falls has been developed and used for recent cyclones like Laila, Thet,
    Jal etc. Algorithms have also been developed to derive ocean parameters
    like sea surface temperature, wind speed, wave heights etc as well as
    atmospheric parameters such as water vapour, cloud liquid water content etc.
    Present thrust areas for applications are towards utilization of data from Indian
    satellite missions including INSAT-3D, Oceansat-2, Cartosat series RISAT,
    Resourcesat-2, Meghatropiques, etc and the planetary mission like
    Chandrayaan-1. A Programme on Climate change Research in Terrestrial
    environment (PRACRITI) is initiated to study the impact of climate change on
    Agriculture System, Himalayan, Cryosphere, Terrestrial Hydrology over India
    and Sensor System Studies for Monitoring of Green House Gases.

    (III) Emoluments and Benefits:

    Candidate selected for appointment shall draw a Basic pay of Rs.17,240/- in the scale of Rs.17,240-840(14)-29,000-910(4)-32640 and other admissible allowances as applicable. Total emoluments will be about Rs.30000/- (approx.) in Metropolitan Centres. In addition, Gratuity, LTS, Medical Benefits, Group Personal Accident Insurance, Group Savings Linked Insurance Scheme (GSLI) and other benefits shall be as per rules of the Company. They shall also be governed by the Rules of New Pension Scheme.

    (IV) Service Conditions:

    Selected candidates are subject to prevailing service conditions of the Company which are subject to change from time to time. The Posts are permanent and candidates selected for appointment are liable to be posted anywhere in India. They are also liable for transfer anywhere in India as per the service conditions of the Company.

    (V) Selection Procedure:

    Applicants possessing the eligibility criteria shall be called for written examination which would comprise of the following:

    GROUP A TO I:

    Objective Test:

    Objective Type Tests consists of :

    1. Reasoning
    2. English language
    3. Numerical Ability
    4. General awareness test for the posts under Group-I.

      Professional knowledge test - for the posts under Group A to H (instead of General awareness test).

    The first three tests i.e. Test of Reasoning, English Language and Numerical Ability will be common for all the candidates. The Test of Professional Knowledge will be specific to each of the Group (A to H) as may be applicable.

    Test papers (i), (iii) and (iv) shall be both in English & Hindi.

    Descriptive Test :

    The test in English language shall be Descriptive paper comprising of Essay, Précis & Comprehension etc.

    Candidates will appear for the written examination at their own expenses.

    On the basis of performance in written examination, candidates will be called for interview and final selection will be made on overall performance in written examination and interview. Outstation candidates called for an interview will be reimbursed to and fro sleeper class fare/bus fare by the shortest route from the station of residence to the station of interview on production of evidence of having undertaken journey for interview purpose.

    At any stage of the recruitment, if the candidate is found to be ineligible for non fulfillment of the requirements, the candidature will be cancelled ab initio. Hence, the candidates are advised to satisfy themselves that they fulfill the eligibility criteria and other requirements such as age, qualifications, category etc. before applying. The decision of the Company in this regard shall be final and binding upon the candidates.

    (VI) Examination Centres :

    Competitive written examination will be held at 24 centres in India. The candidates may choose any one of the following centres, which must be indicated in the application form clearly. No change of centre will be allowed at a later date. Company reserves the right to direct candidates to appear at a Centre other than the one chosen by them for written examination without monetary assistance.     (VII) Probation & Training:

    Selected candidates if certified to be medically fit, may be appointed as ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER (SCALE-I) on probation for a period of one year which may be extended as per the Decision of the Competent Authority. During the probation period the candidates are required to pass the non-life “Licentiate Examination” conducted by the Insurance Institute of India. Only after passing the said examination will the candidate be eligible for confirmation of his services in the Company. A maximum period of two years would be available to the candidates for passing the above examination. Failure on the part of the candidate to clear the examination within the stipulated period will render his/her services liable for termination.

    The Company reserves the right to terminate the services of the candidate without assigning any reason therefor, at any time, during the probationary period and / or extended period of probation without any Notice. During the probationary period, candidates may be required to undergo theoretical/practical training as may be prescribed / arranged for them.

    (VIII) Guarantee Bond:

    Before joining as probationer, the selected candidates will be required to give an undertaking to serve the Company for a minimum period of four years including probationary period. In the event of their resigning from the Company before the expiry of the bond period, they are liable to pay liquidated damages equivalent to one year’s gross salary paid to them during the first year of probation which could be proportionately reduced depending on the length of service rendered. The selected candidates are also required to submit a stamped Bond duly executed by two Sureties of sound financial standing, for an amount equivalent to one year’s gross salary.

    Candidates resigning from the Company during the probationary period shall be liable to pay the salary received by them during their entire service in the Company in addition to an amount of Rs.40,000/- towards partial cost of training. No lien/bond executed to retain a substantive post with present employer will be binding upon the Company and no Leave Salary or Pension Contribution will be made.

    (IX) Application Fee :

    Applicants belonging to the category of SC/ST/PWD and confirmed employees of Oriental Insurance Company Ltd. are exempted from paying the application fee. The other applicants are required to pay Rs.500/- towards application fee. The same is required to be remitted in any of the offices of Oriental Insurance Company Ltd. by way of cash / DD / Bankers cheque during the cash collection hours at the cash counter.     1. QUALIFICATION:
    B.E or B.Tech or equivalent Degree in Electrical Engineering from UGC
    recognized University with minimum 60% marks (Aggregate of 7th & 8th
    semester, first trial without ATKT) for General category candidates and 55%
    for Reserved category candidates.
    2. AGE LIMIT: (As on the date of issuance of the advertisement):
    30 Years for General category candidates and 35 years for reserved
    categories candidates.
    3. REMUNERATION:
    Fixed remuneration for 1st and 2nd year would be Rs.13, 000/- and Rs.14,
    500/- respectively per month. No other allowance or benefits would be
    admissible except coverage under Personal Accident Policy, Reimbursement
    of TA/DA as per Company’s rules.
    4. SCOPE OF CARRIER DEVELOPMENT / PROSPECTIVE:
    On completion of successful and satisfactory two years services as Junior
    Engineer (Vidyut Sahayak), the candidates will be appointed on regular
    establishment as “JUNIOR ENGINEER” in the scale of Rs. 17, 300-38, 610
    depend on his overall performance. The right candidates have bright
    prospect of promotion up to the level of Chief Engineer as per Company’s
    rules.
    5. VACANCIES:
    Approx. 31 (+) Nos. of Vacancies [UR-(15),SEBC-(01)&ST-(15)]. The
    vacancies may be increased, considering the future vacancies, which are
    likely to arise in future and the same vacancies will be filled-up as per Roster
    points / rules. These vacancies are under various Circles of Uttar Gujarat Vij
    Company Limited.
